    Car dashboard message on my wife's car said its alternator needed checking. By the time I took the car in (the next day) the message was gone and not re-showing, but I thought I should ask a professional what they thought. They didn't test anything - simply suggested a new alternator, 40 mins later I received a quote by phone (allegedly the cheapest they could get one for) for $735 incl GST. I had no idea what they cost and was at work so wanted to make sure it was fixed. They also fixed 2 front parking lights. Later I called RACQ - their mobile alternator replacement fee is $550 including GST, but that was too late. I put it to them that they had overcharged me and should at least they should offer some refund, but they refused. I'm not happy.

    My air conditioning was faulty. I was told they would diagnose the problem and fix it. The air conditioning problem persisted, obviously it was not diagnosed correctly as they told me. So after a $460 bill and after being told I would have to bring the car back for further diagnoses and repair at my cost, I think I'll cut my losses and go elsewhere. I can see a trend with other posters here.
